If you've seen our last video, you'll know we sold the Hilux at the end of 2021. It wasn't working well as a family tourer - and it was time for something a bit more "nice". After many test drives we ordered a Fortuner in April 2021 - it finally arrived in January 2022!

Can't wait to get it setup and ready to go for Overland NZ adventures!

Parting with a vehicle you've created awesome memories with is never easy - but we realised not too long after having our first kid that the Hilux, at least the way we had it setup, doesn't work for us as a family.

We've been running the Feldon rooftop tent for a little over three years now and have tested it all over New Zealand - I still rate rooftop tents as the best way to camp, even if you have to make a few compromises.

After thousands of kilometres bumping around the country, it was time to replace our sad looking bash plates! AC Fab sent us a full set of their 4mm zinc plates steel bash plates to try out - and man, what an upgrade - such a nice piece of kit that's made right here in New Zealand! How good!

I thought we'd have a quick look back through what we got up to over the last 12 months or so - and remember just how epic New Zealand is!

After 70,000kms our old tyres were pretty much done - it was time to chuck something new on. Enter the MAXXIS Razr AT811s - an aggressive all-terrain that is fairly new on the market. I also splashed out a little and got some new wheels! Pretty stoked with how it turns out.

Daniel sets out on three days of exploring the hidden gems in the Whanganui/Taranaki area. Between the beaches, Meremere Road (where things go a tad wrong), the "most expensive road to maintain" Kiwi Road and the other gems, it's a pretty amazing place to spend a weekend!
